As mulheres foca são criaturas que podem ser encontradas na mitologia dos povos das Faroés, da Islândia, da Irlanda ou da Escócia. Conta a lenda, que estas criaturas, tinham a característica de se poderem transformar de focas em belas mulheres. A sua beleza era motivo de encantamento, por parte dos pescadores.

The seal women are creatures that can be found in the mythology of the peoples of the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Ireland or Scotland. According to the legend, these creatures are able to transform from seals into beautiful women. Its beauty was a cause of enchantment to the fishermen. The legend apparently originated on the Orkney Island in Scotland.
